Heavy destro spec
So I recently hit 60, and soon I plan on doing a lot of pvp with my guild. Right now I am sm/ruin build right now, but I plan on re-speccing heavy into the destro tree. We will be doing lots of Alterac Valley, and so my role will be to do a lot of aoe and burst damage, with little time for dotting. Here is my idea Affliction- 0 points Demonology- 7 points Demonic Embrace- 5 points- pretty self-explanatory here Improved Healthstone- 2 points- gives me an extra couple of seconds to get in that conflag or dc before I die Destruction- 44 points Improved Shadowbolt- 5 pnts- meh, better than cataclysm Bane- 5 pnts- Again, self explanatory Aftermath- 5 pnts- Basically, when I use rain of fire along with the other locks, I think the extra chance to daze will help slow guys, thus allowing for more aoe damage from the rest of my groups Devastation- 5 pnts- standard Shadowburn- 1 point same Destructive Reach- 2 pnts- extra range for aoe Intensity/Pyroclasm- 4 pnts- Basically the same reason I put points in aftermath, chance to stop the alliance from escaping from the scenario of all the aoe going on Ruin- 1 pnt- yeah At this point I have so many points invested in destro, that I just took full points in the remaining talents, and also cuz I love conflag Basically the whole scenario for the build is to help out those awkward standoffs that always happen in AV, when the mages are using ae/blastwave/blizz, and me and the other couple of locks are using rof. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions from more experienced players? Anything is greatly appreciated. |

Although cataclysm isn't that great, for a full destro build I think you will get more use out of it than imp shadowbolt. Full destro you will most likely be using Conflag, Immolate, and Searing Pain, not Shadowbolt.

Yes, cataclysm isn't great but when you are constantly spamming Immolate, Conflagrate, and Searing Pain like PeePeeBritches said every bit of mana in the ends helps. I myself am heavy in Destruction (19/0/32) and do all those on a regular basis, and it works wonderfully in AV. |
