Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
I dont know about you all but I am excited about BC. Finally the Warlock class gets three path to choose from. Affliction Warlock are now playable with two new DoTs, DoT improvements and more time away from spamming shadow bolts. Summoner Warlocks have probably been cemented with Fel Guard, Blizzard is so sure on this that they have not even given us the choice of sacrificing it, its that good. Hell you can even become a sword wielding warloc with FG and SL. And last but not all the ability to become a true Fire Warlock! Woot!!! Here is my build 0/21/40 Destruction: Cataclysm + 5 Bane + 5 Shadowburn + 1 Devastation +5 Intensity + 2 Destructive Reach +2 Improved Immulate +5 Ruin +1 Emberstorm +5 Conflagrate +1 Soul Leach +3 Shadow and Flame +5 Demonology: Improved Healthstone +3 Demonic Embrace +5 Improved Voidwalker +3 Improved Succubus +3 Fel Domination +1 Demonic Aegis +3 Master Summoner +2 +1 anywhere you want Demonic Sacrifice +1 Although I have nothing against Shadowfury, its not my cup of tea, I believe it to be especially made for PvP but this build does not need it since it replaces SF with Demonic Sacrifice! DSing the imp will give you a 15% fire damage boost! Forget shadowboring, incinerate is are new friend. Add 10% damage from emberstone and 20% bonus spell damage and what you have is a very high damaging warlock. Add the new reduced threat reducing ability of destructive reach and the new spell soulshatter and we can go high in the damage tree in raids. Also, soul leech is a good ability to have since we wont be having improve life tap, 4% of our damage per spell going to us as hit points is pretty nice ( Yes it is 4% if you want me to explain the math to you ill be happy to.) Think of DS as your new friend. Your a walking flamethrower. Imagine doing this combo for PVE: Curse of the Elements, Immulate, Conflag, Immulate, Soul Fire, Incinerate, Incinerate, Incinerate, Incinerate, Conflag (In the span of 22.5 secs! Including global cooldown!) Here are the direct + damages to all your fire spells from this build (There are indirect +damage such as Curse of the elements, cataclym and aegis shield that I will not include): Immulate: +25% initial damage, +10% damage, +15% damage Incinerate: + 10% damage, +15% damage, +20% bonus spell damage Soulfire: + 10% damage, +15% damage Conflag:+ 10% damage, +15% damage Searing Pain:+ 10% damage, +15% damage Point to take into consideration in this build: Why cataclysm instead of improve shadowbolt? Very simple, with this build you never ever going to be using shadowbolt, since your going to be using incinerate when you have immolute, which will be always, incinerate begins to be equal if not better to shadowbolt. Therefore there is no point in putting points on improve shadowbolt although for any other build its the better option to go for. Cataclysm reduces 5% of the mana used with destructive spells which adds up to 5% base damage increase to your destructive spells (once gain if you want me to explain the math ill be happy to). Why improve VoidWalker and Improve Succubus? Because after the obvious point fillers of the demonology tree, improve healthstones, demonic embrace, demonic aegis, fel domination, and master demonologyst, these are the best options. Since your almost never going to have a pet out because of DS, improving your over all pet or imp is a waste of points. When are you going to have your pet out? In emergencies when you need to either sacrifice you VW or seduce an enemy. Improv VW and Improv Suc are the way to go. Unfortunately your going to waste one point to get DS so put it anywhere you want. What about PVP? Are you kidding me? Conflag warlocks are already good pvp builds, this only increases it. Your also the new best friend of mages. Why? Curse of the Elements which you will be putting on since it also helps you even further. Last edited by Moscas981; October 02, 2006 at 02:15 PM.. |

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
I am been reading around the forum which is something I rarely do and I have notice some people have already post the 0/21/40 as a build. Just as a heads up, i am not stealing the idea or the initiative, I thought about the build myself and I am happy that there are already people talking and thinking about this build because its going to kick ass. |

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
Hopefully Blizzard will reward us for thinking outside the "box" builds in The BC. I really like this build, as it adds a different dimension to the warlock class.

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
I'm trying something along these lines with my Blood Elf warlock i'm gonna roll. But my Undead is gonna get SF. It looks really good imo. a nice ranged AoE for us.

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
The cooldown on Shadowfury is atrocious. The casting time sort of makes up for it. I think the cooldown should be about 15 to 20 seconds for a 41 point talent like that one. |

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
It is probably the best build for end game at this point in time, provided there aren't any changes made to any of the talents. Knowing that I will be hanging around with a shadow priest, Moonkin and a fire mage will make it quite an interesting experience to level.

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
Why don't you replace Imp. Succy and Void with Fel Stamina and Intelect? Those two will aid you at all times... |

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
I assume its for seduce and VW sacrifice. Not used all the time but great for when you do need them. Nice build. I was thinking of something similar if i can tear myself away from my Felguard.

Re: Finally a True Fire Warlock Build
So, i like the build, but how easy will it be to get +fire damage gear, or should i just roll with generic +damage gear? Also, will the damage bonuses of this build be worth not having a 41pt talent as great as UA or SF, AND Imp. Corruption? Although, my guess is that i will keep imp corruption until the end, then switch the points over. Also, seeed of corruption will probably be preferred over corruption. Does imp corruption also apply for Seed? the for the help -Germogh |
