Hey all, help required if possible

OK So I dinged 70 a few days ago(3 Today) I had epics ect set aside and joined a friends guild who have Kara/Gruul/Maggy On farm, but I feel my lock isn't anywhere up to the standards I want her to be, I would rather start getting some half decent gear than being dragged through places I don't feel I am equiped for but I'm doing Heroics like mad to upgrade my gear, so far my rolling has bin shocking, I rolled a 98 for the ring in MT but lost to a Mage rolling 100

My problem is I look at my SpellDam and want to /cry I can get my shadowdamage to over a 1000 with food, flasks ect but still feel it can be improved by doing certain things.

I know there are enchants(12 SpellDmg on Rings - Need rep) I have the 12 SpDmg on bracers enchant but want to get a decent pair of bracers before splashing out, I also know about the Sha'tar Glyph and that is my next aim but is there anything else I am missing?

What do you make of my build, I'm happy with it so far thinking it will come better in time DP is awesome i.m.o, but are they any suggestions you could make?

Also(Sorry alot of questions) Gems, I've been using my main to buy 12 SpDmg Gems and send them over, I see alot of raiding locks with pure 12 SpDmg gems in every area should I go down that road? or just replacemy 12 stam for a SplDmg SplHit gem? I'm baffeled I get told x is good or y but I could use some guidence, Where can I improve mine?

Thanks for reading through this and will look forward to reading your responses.

Re: Hey all, help required if possible

you forgot the thread that you can add to your pants. There are spell damage enchants for four items, rings bracers, weapon, and gloves I believe. As for gems, affliction warlocks that spend 5/5 talent points in suppression only need 76 spell hit to cap. If you can manage that then the rest of your gems should be +damage.

Re: Hey all, help required if possible

You actually have 12 intellect on bracers! The enchant you were thinking of is 15 damage anyway. Get hit to your gloves.

You will get more dps from a hit/damage or just plain hit gem until you are capped. Don't worry about 1000 damage so much that you gimp your other stats. Don't waste expensive gems on easily replaceable (or even hard to replace) greens and blues. Also I wouldn't worry so much about set bonuses. Don't socket for stam so much because for instance a hit/stam green gem is actually worth something to your dps. (I never worried about set bonuses that conflicted with what I wanted to socket)

Also, drop ruin. Its worthless until you have the hit/crit/damage to support it and will be outperformed by far by UA with your stats. Drop some points in fel concentration and finish off improved drain soul because the extra 5% reduction in threat is huge. Soul siphon is also kinda bad and you will want to finish off grim reach for the longest range on your dots possible. Both shadow embrace and malediction have good utility in raids and you should consider those.

Except for shadowbolts and soulshatter. But aside from 2 of your main weapons. Yeah.

Seriously though, supression is a good stop gap but I wouldn't consider yourself hit capped as much as just suffering less from not being capped.

Re: Hey all, help required if possible

Welcome to the forum - a couple of things:

1) If you need help with a talent build, go here: Talent Builds - Ask for help - The Warlocks Den Forums

For the record, you don't have the gear to support ruin and I would definately try an Unstable Affliction build until you do: Raiding Builds - 41 / 0 / 20 (Draft 1) - The Warlocks Den Forums

2) If you need help with gear advice, go here:
Rate the Warlock above you's Gear - #2 - The Warlocks Den Forums

The Gear guide has EVERY single source of viable upgrades listed, so if you need to update any particular slot then those are the choice cuts. For gloves and bracers I would certainly look to a) Attumen and b) PvP for items that will last you an awfully long time......as well as the Spellblade or Warstaff as weapon choices. Getting the Icon of the Silver Crescent from badges in place of the Vengeance of the Illidari would be a nice upgrade (you don't need much crit as affliction).

We're great believers in self-education so to start with you could definately read through some of the sticky threads rather than asking us to address every single problem you might have in one post

The Warlock class is quite complex but I'm confident that virtually every question you might ever come up with has been addresed on here and the search engine is wonderfully efficient so I would definately recommend you take the time to use that.

Last thing: Subtlety on cloak is the way forward - Spell Penetration is for PvP (if you're getting spell resists, its down to lack of +hit).
