Badge Priority Help
Character Name: Gnemesis
Armory Link: The World of Warcraft Armory Talent Build: 0/21/40 (shadow) Quick Info Health: ~9000 unbuffed Mana: ~7500 unbuffed +Damage: 879 (shadow) +Hit: 177 +Crit: 18.96% Have you read the gearing guide? Multiple times, as well as the BoJ pick order thread Items/Slots in need of immediate upgrade: Cape, Gloves, Ring Upgrades you are currently working on: Badge farming, just not sure which item to go for first. All about Gnemesis: Before anyone says it, I know I'm destro too early. But there are an unusually high number of hunters in my guild, so spreading dots around as affliction generally causes problems with freeze traps and such. Additionally, there is almost always a draenei in the party during raids, which compensates a bit for the hit deficit I have. My guild is a smaller casual raiding guild currently raiding Kara, and will be making our first foray into ZA in a week or so. And, true to my luck, I have not been in the raid when Attumen dropped the handwraps, and I don't think anyone has seen Ritssyn's pendant yet. (Also, ignore the arena teams on my armory. We're bad to the point of being laughable at PvP...) My dilemma at the moment, what should I spend badges on? I was hoping to have the Handwraps of Flowing Thought by now, which would be a huge upgrade over the craptastic gloves I'm wearing at the moment. However, I've not seen the gloves drop yet, and I find myself going back and forth between the Fused Nethergon Band and the Enslaved Doomguard Soulgrips. Should I go for the nethergon band, and hope the handwraps drop soon? Or keep saving a little bit and just go for the soulgrips first? |

Re: Badge Priority Help
Hi, in my opinion, since your guild is mainly doing kara and ZA, reaching the hit cap isn't that big of issue for you at this point. I think 177 is enough for now so getting the ring should not be that urgent. Therefore, I recommend get the gloves first, waiting for things to drop is not always the best option, the more you can improve your gear and damage output, the better you benefit the entire raid. (Just wondering, why no tier 4 gloves? if you guys are doing kara, I can't imagine you lost the roll everytime)

Re: Badge Priority Help
I'm exhaulted with the violet eye and have only seen that gloves T4 token drop a couple times and have lost the roll each time... so yes it can happen.
*** Information added 9 Minutes and 34 Seconds later... *** In regards to your question... i think your best bet is to replace the gloves first, you'll get the most bang for your buck there cause the soulcloth gloves are trash. I'd next buy the offhand, then the ring and trinket. And while your waiting for raids to get together, i'd PVP to save honor for the S2 spellblade. Its quite an upgrade to what you currently have. |

Re: Badge Priority Help
Thanks for the responses! Yes, the S2 spellblade will be happening in about a week now. Been waiting for S4 for a while now, lol.
![]() And as to the question of why I don't have the T4 gloves: Gloves of the Fallen Hero - Item - World of Warcraft I'm competing against the aforementioned hunters in the raid. We typically run with me, 3 hunters, and a mage for DPS, so there would be 5 of us competing for the one single drop. TBH, I'd rather farm badges - the badge gloves are better anyway. I did have one last followup question on the offhand though. According to CPimp's gearing guide, the lamp of peaceful radiance has a score of 3480, while the fetish of the primal gods has a score of 3694. Granted, it's a definite upgrade (about 6% per the numbers), but would that really do more for me than upgrading a ring to the nethergon band? Per the guide, Band of the Guardian: 2696. Fused Nethergon Band: 5040. That upgrade is huge by comparison. Guess it's time to spend some quality time with the spreadsheet... |

Re: Badge Priority Help
Well, the guide takes into consideration of +spell hit, if you can reach the cap without having the lamp, then the fetish of the primal gods is going to worth a lot of more points than the lamp (any hit over 202 is useless). So i would still go get the primal gods.

Re: Badge Priority Help
Personally, I'd get the Fused Nethergon Band before the Fetish. The Lamp of Peaceful Radiance is a decent offhand and there are two good-ish offhands that drop in Kara from NB and NS. You will not see a ring like the Nethergon Band for ages, it is godly before T6 and still great at that level.
The guides are not set in stone and pick-up order will be different for every character but IMO, you should go for (in this order): Icon of the Silver Crescent, Fused Nethergon Band, Doomguard Soulgrips/Studious Wraps. BTW, I've ran Kara to the point of insanity and only seen the T4 gloves token drop once, and I lost the roll. I've also never seen the Ruby Drape, Tirisfal Wand, or Ring of Recurrence drop. Only seen the Mindblade drop once too and lost the roll on that. |
