Have you read the gearing guide? Yes

Items/Slots in need of immediate upgrade:

Well...obviously...I need to dump the 4 greens I'm wearing. I have need upgrades on Head, Boots, Bracers, and Gloves.
Upgrades you are currently working on:

As of today, I'm sitting on 30k in honor pts and about 75 AV marks. I'm sure this will be useful in purchasing some new items for those slots I mentioned above...but not enough to replace all of them. I can probably buy two new items and am looking for input on which direction I should go with my marks and honor pts.

All about you:
I'm not currently in a guild. I'm on Boulderfist...which is PVP server. I just hit 70 a couple weeks ago and want to get involved asap in raiding. I have epic riding mount, and regular flying mount. My immediate raiding goal is to get myself up to par for Kara. Once there I can start farming badges and upgrading big time. I love playing in the BG's also...so I'm sure that the marks/honor I get there will come in handy in upgrading my gear as well.
Since I'm guildless....most of my play is solo...so having my Felguard is vital to staying alive. I've thought about respeccing...but dont see it working well for me because of all the solo play. I'm tailor and enchanter, but both skills are more useful in making me money then anything else.

Would appreciate any advice on what you think my next steps should be in getting to the "next level" when it comes to me gear. Thanks.

*** Information added 457 Minutes and 24 Seconds later... ***

Quick update....I used the honor and marks i had for new head and gloves pieces. In addition to the previous upgrades I needed, I'm gonna save my next pts up for the shoulder piece to replace the one I have which is for healers.

Re: 70 Demo Orc Warlock needs advice on raiding gear

If you're serious about going raiding, then I would suggest running through as many of the level 70 instances as possible, as you will find a lot of gear upgrades in those dungeons. In fact, I'd suggest completing the Karazhan attunement quest-chain, even though it's not needed anymore, as it will take you through the sorts instances where you are supposed to gear-up in, as well as awarding you some nice gold and welcome rep.

One of the most important things should be to level your tailoring to 375 and to create the Shadoweave Set, as well as the Spellstrike Hood and Pants if possible, as these are some of the best items available to you at this time and, despite the effort involved, will last you for a very long while.

If you can grind for crafted epics and buff them with good quality gems and enchants, this will show any perspective guilds that you have put effort and thought into your gear, which will they appreciate a lot, even if your gear isn't the very best.

If I were in your position now and serious about raiding, I would PuG my way through as many level 70 dungeons as possible and pick up some nice level 70 instance blues, create as many items of the epic tailoring sets as I can, and then apply to a Karazhan level raiding guild with a nicely thought-out application.

Edit: In terms of spec, I think most would agree that affliction is the best raiding spec for you at the moment. I know it's sad to loose the Felguard, but for raiding, especially when you are far below the hit cap, five-points in Supression will allow you to do much better DPS against raid-bosses. Also with a bit practice you can actually grind even more effectively as an affliction 'lock, just by fearing and dotting anything that moves.

Re: 70 Demo Orc Warlock needs advice on raiding gear

Great. My tailoring is currently at 340...so getting up to 375 shouldnt take much longer. Enchanting is harder to level up, so I'll focus on that when I'm maxed on tailoring.
So you think making the Shadoweave set is my best bet? I've already got two pieces of the Merciless Gladiator set...and am about to buy the shoulders next to give me 3. Is the Shadoweave set better than the Merciless Gladiator one?
And where do I start the Kara attunement quest line at?

And respeccing to Affliction will be tough for me. I guess I can give it a shot and see how well I do...but it will require me to totally change my way of thinking during battles. Fearing and Dotting anything that moves seems kind of reckless to me. I can already see myself Fearing something...and having it pull a slew of more mobs back at me.

Re: 70 Demo Orc Warlock needs advice on raiding gear

I agree with everything Faraday said. you need to work your way through level 70 instances, and that will get you the gear upgrades you need, as well as some rep which you will need later for enchants, etc. also, i would say getting your tailoring up to 375 and getting the spellstrike/shadoweave sets should almost be priority #1, as you can make yourself 5 epics which do last you a long time (a little too long, i'm tired of looking at mine). and for raiding, you will almost surely have to switch to affliction. i understand the hesitation to give up the felguard, but once you master affliction, it will be faster and almost unfair in most PVE situations. just daydream of the day you will be able to just run around dotting up 10 mobs and then AOE fearing them all as you dot up 10 more (i may have exaggerated slightly on the numbers). when i'm farming motes, it takes longer to loot all the corpses than it does to kill the entire field. just think of it as a change of PVE philosophy: while demo might take down a single target faster, affliction is all about killing multiple targets simultaneously. and, at this point, you will maximize your dps in raids as affliction, as the FG is basically useless in kara. imp = infinite mana

Just a quick note about the pvp gear you might want to get, the silk cuffs are a very good option and are great for raiding when equipped with a +8 spell hit gem. Only about 11k honor and wsg marks I think.
