Raiding: From PvP to Raiding

Looks like I am caught in the armory with a flask and no armor on so my stats are a bit off at the moment.

My guild is in Kara, ZA and Gruul's at this time. I am an alchemist and can start collecting mats for the Sorcerer's Alchemist Stone (I have both recipes).

This is my first WoW character. I am most interested in raiding now, after having done little but PvP since mid level 50s. I watched a raid video of a group downing Brutallus and I haven't looked back. I really hope to do that one day with my guild. I started Kara in my PvP purples and have been replacing them since.

When I get the arena helm, listed above, I will gem it for PvE--probably the same way as the piece I am wearing? Later, if replace it with a PvE headpiece that is better I can regem the arena helm for pure PvP.

I have the spell blade from MgT but it has no spell hit at all so I am saving it for a day when I may start stacking spell haste. The Prince blade just hastn't dropped for us, at least in none of my runs. When I get my new PvP spell blade I will have 205 spell hit.

The next task seems to be lose and replace 22 spell hit from Terrokar Tablet of Vim.

I am currently holding off on speccing Destro since my GM likes to have at least one imp out and the other locks have recently specced Sac/Destro. For now I am thinking to keep my spec this way since I will always be using my imp in raiding at least for the time being.

This being my first go into raiding I don't really know what to expect, what is on the horizon, and I realize I may still be of the mindset of a PvPer. Also, after the arena helm, I am not sure I will want much more from PvP at this time but will probably play maybe one day a week.

What I am overlooking. I feel a little behind on the learning curves for both PvP and PvE, in all honesty, since this is my first and only character and I've only been playing just about nine months now.

I would really love to get enough spell hit on my gear itself so that I can use gems for more plus damage. I just can't see how to do that right now.
