Reason for opening this thread is to see if i'm working on the right things and what should be the aim.

About my guild:
They are currently doing Kara, Gruul, ZA (all cleared). They've recently started doing the 25man raids and we are trying to get Gruul on farm, downing Maggy (and ofcourse farm him aswell). Yesterday was our first attempt in SSC to Lurker (was the lucky winner of boots of blasting pattern^^). ZA has been cleared once, and we're in the process of clearing it more often.

About me and my gear:
I pvp once in a while for fun, but my aim is more for pve content. I've been puzzling to get the best combination possible with my latest item i've collected: Darkmoon card Crusade. Most of my gear i've been basing on the site www.maxdps.com and i was confused seeing that the numbers on this site (c-pimp's thread) are different from what i'm used to....meaning a change in terms of dps-rating.

Concrete questions:
-Is it worthwhile replacing my badgepants by either corrupted soul pantaloons or spellstrike pants?
Imo it's too marginal/not worth the time to replace it.
-Should i use spellstrike hood instead of T4 head?
I'm currently using t4 head because according to maxdps it's equal in dps (weighing in the fact im hitcapped now due to other gear). Ofcourse im hoping to get T4 shoulders for the setbonus.
-Should i use the T4 gloves instead of the badgeglove for the setbonus? I'm a bit ashamed to say this , but i don't know how to use the spreadsheet so i couldnt figure out how much the setbonus was worth. I know for sure the badge glove is way better (maxdps says 22dps more).
-What's a fair number on HP/MP to have unbuffed?
I used to be affliction and i always had around 10k HP due to imp.

Okay for the overall question i would like to say, yes you are on the right track.

Now time to answer your questions!

Q1. I would not swap to the corrupted soul pantaloons the ones you have are perfectly gemmed. Also you would loose spell hit and spell damage. The only stat you would really gain would be spell crit, but your spell crit is okay for your spec anyway.

Q2. If i was you i would use the spellstrike hood over tier 4, it would boost your stats so much and also you should gem it with 3 X spell hit/spell damage as i think you need to become hit capped. Hit capped is 202 spell hit rating, and at the minute on your armory it is 131.

Q3. Use badge gloves as they are clearly better than the tier 4 ones, also if you take my advice you will be using the spellstrike hood anyway so the 2set bonus isnt a worry.

Q4. Also i would say a decent amount of mana and hp at that level would be 8k health and 9k mana pool.

Thank you for your time to answer some questions, however (and you probably didnt see it) i mentioned in my starting post that you might see me in trash/instance gear which explains the low 131 spellhit. The stats i've posted are from my raiding gear though (202 hitcapped).

This might be a weird question but can anybody explain howcome the numbers from here and in maxdps can differ? As an example T4 head vs spellstrike, here spellstrike is way superior to the T4head and on maxdps they are practically equal (given the fact that you're not hitcapped, otherwise t4head would be better ofc).

46 Spell damage, 3 sockets = 27 spell damage for a total of 73 spell damage

Voidheart
31 Spell Crit (with meta gem)
40 Spell damage, 1+9 damage gem = 49 damage

Basically, is 24 spell damage greater than 7 spell crit and 3% crit damage. At your gear level, you are seeing SB crits of 5000ish? 3% is 150, but that only happens on crits, which is only 24% of your SBs. 24% of 150 is 36 per SB. Tough call indeed. Probably fairly equal in the end.

The reason CPimp's guide rates Spellstrike so high is he gives a high value to spell hit. The MaxDPS site asks you for your spell hit, and if you put in 202, they don't give spell hit any value at all. Since you are capped already, it gives zero weight to the 16 spell hit on the Spellstrike.

All that being said, you are in great shape, have made all the right gem choices. Only gripe would be the stam enchant on the bracers. Dude, you are an enchanter, fix that!!
