Raiding: Should I start max haste ?

Hello,
Our guild is finishing the T5 content(vash,kael remaining) and I'm feeling uncertain about haste and gemming. I have read on a topic that reaching 20% crit is enough and that after that cap haste will better scale up with the gear. As we are currently rushing ZA with some haste gear I was asking me if I should continue max this stat or continue with crit ?
For instance I have buy the pvp neklace in haste and crit form. Should I drop the crit form for the haste one ?

My main goal is to find gear with suffisent hit to regem my stuff and remove hit gem. Should I put haste/damage gem instead ?

Other question:
-Is there any ugrade with crafting/badge that will be worthy for me ?
-I'm usins in my dps cycle corruption(for a better threat management) and Immolate. For this reason I was asking me if keeping the Tymbal's focus crystal will be a good idea. Will it perform better than silvercrest icon ?

The good thing with hast and SB destro build is that it cant ruin any form of spellrotation.

So yes haste is very good.

But, its not haste or crit, its.. Yes please Ill have both ^^.
But as a general rule, always value haste rating more than crit rating.

So for gems, haste would be a better choice than crit. Making fx Reckless Pyrestone the best Yellow gem (As long as you are hit capped ofc).

Generally crit is not something you should go for. It should just come naturally from gear.

I wouldn't start stacking haste at your level of gearing - on paper its a better stat but it depends how much you can stack without gimping your other stats. For most people pre-SWP then you can achieve just as much DPS through crit/damage gems (hey, as pointed out many times its worked for such luminaries as Buzzkill). Its only when you can stack significant amounts of haste without affecting other stats that it becomes worthwhile - for example if your choice is 100 damage or 100 haste (as long as the above is true) the actual DPS you can is very, very similar.

Timbal's is generally not as good as the Icon unless you're affliction in which case it has enough DoTs to proc from that it comes out a little ahead.

Thank for your answer. For leulier, I already use it but I have heard that it tend to overrrate haste at low level. Haste is equal to 0.9 damage spell while crit only 0.57.
If I do understand, only SW gear will allow me to up my haste significantly. It's true that gemming won't allow me to reach a suffisent amount of haste. So I will user crit/gem when I will get stufff with more hit like the hex head. BTW is there any gear with Hit that you could advice me ?

You can gem for significant amounts of haste pre SWP but generally you won't achieve any greater success through that method than you would with crit/damage - there are a couple of items that are perhaps worth picking up (Staff from Illidan, BT Trash ring, ZA ring from third chest, potentially the S4 neck) but I would definately advise that you check against suitable other items (A MH/OH combo, Neck from ROS etc) before going for haste in any slot to see how much of an upgrade it is.

bump for this thread and patch 3.0.3. With 0/46/15, with full buff I got 1700spell power, 35% crit.
Self buffed(fire stone) I got round 1400 spell damage, 27 crit, 17 haste
Should get tomorow my extra 5% ^^.

Do you think it would be a good idea to use +10 haste instead of crit/spell power gem ?
What about the stone ? fire or spell ?
I'm confused cause my dps only shine when I critic so I'm not surthat waste wouldn't be a better dps increase.
With my own gear I could get 70 in haste.(ring from za,badge,offhand,pvp necklace).
Worth replacing +6 spp,5 crit by +6spp,5 haste or even 10 haste ? What about +12 spell power ? Isn't 10 haste better with so much spell damage ?
