General gear assistance with when to upgrade

Yes, it is my bible Items/Slots in need of immediate upgrade: My guild uses EPGP instead of DKP, with loot distributed according to priority (Google Page Ranking). For the most part, the caster group is very fair to each other and will pass if they are ahead on Google Page Ranking to someone that needs the upgrade much more. Boots, boots, boots: I've been trying to get the Boots of Blasting pattern since January (LONG before Cat was 70), on two different servers. It dropped once since I joined my current guild, and I was on my priest that night and lost the roll. Now that we have Naj'entus on farm, I am 2nd in Google Page Ranking for Slippers of the Seacaller. I find myself very reluctant to spend 75 badges on boots when Blasting and Seacaller are both upgrades that should be available to me at any time. Head/Legs: I HAVE the Leggings of Channeled Elements off Kaz'rogal, I just don't know whether to put them on and break the Spellstrike set. I need help with this, and if it's time to break the set, advice on the best way to gem them. Upgrades you are currently working on: I decided long before Cat was 70 to gear her the best I could without raiding (at the time, I could not raid due to the time of my server, i have since transferred), so as soon as she hit 70, she put on Spellstrike set, Mantle and bracers of Nimble thought, and the Belt of Blasting. That may have been the wrong way to go about gearing her, but I really didn't see the point of making FSW, as I had no intentions of being affliction. Other than boots, I am not working on any one upgrade, rather trying to evaluate Cat as a whole and pick the best choices as she is geared atm. All about you: Hmmm... I raid on Cat and that's about all. I do a few dailies here and there, but I have 6 70s and they each have a purpose, so I farm on other toons. I do ZA once a week usually, 2 consistant timed chests, close to 3rd and 4th. (ie, we have missed the 3rd by like 3 seconds several weeks now). I *try* to run Kara every week for badges, but it doesn't always happen, as I do have a couple of other 70s that need gear from there still and I can't always fit in 3-5 Kara runs a week. I do enjoy BGs, but I'm not good at PvP (on any toon lol), so I'm not overly concerned about how to better her for it. She has 349 resil in PvP gear atm. She has 22k honor banked right now. I know I'm low on crit, over on hit. i'd welcome any suggestions to improve that situation. If the solution is to go affliction, I'm not open to that, lol. I have a shadow priest, I am SICK OF DoTs. I hitcapped at the expense of everything the moment she hit 70 so I could go destro, and I've gradually gotten her stats up some, but I know she still needs work. I am consistently over 1100dps on bosses, usually between 1200-1450dps, depending on the fight. Most of the time I am close to the other locks as far as dps goes. I run fel armor with suc sac'd unless I have to have imp out for a particular fight. On trash, i use sbolt or seed only, i don't curse, as another lock does CoE on everything. On bosses, i doom when possible, otherwise rarely curse unless I put up weak or reck. Agony is probably something I should do, but if I'm not using doom, it's likely because a DoT shouldn't be up at a certain point in the fight, and since I'm horrible at timing, I just don't do one. (Read this as I am the dingbat that had doom go off during Hydross phase change....) Guild progression atm is: 3/4 TK (every other week, one night), 5/6 SSC (usually weekly), 4/5 Hyjal (weekly), 4/9 BT (weekly, last night was first Gorefiend kill, we are working on Bloodboil now) SWP is not likely before Wrath of the Lich King, I do farm trash a couple of times a week. Item by item: Head: SS Hood, will replace when I get the Hood of Hexing most likely. Possibly with Archi's head, but the other upgrades aren't likely in the near future. Neck: Got Vindicator's a couple of nights before Guardian's came out. Not to the min/max point yet that I will spend the honor for Guardian's. Likely next upgrade will be from ZA and it is minimal, so i will pass to others for a while. Shoulders: Holding out for Anatheron or Bloodboil. Back: best in slot Chest: Likely the best I will get before Wrath of the Lich King unless by chance my trash runs in SWP get the Sunfire Robe drop, and even then, there will be a lot of competition in rolling for it. Wrist: Probably will not spend Google Page Ranking for Shade of Akama's wrists until I upgrade my boots, as the DP between nimble thought and his is a minimal difference. Hands: Aiming for T6, not sure where my Google Page Ranking lies for those. Badge gloves are about a 400DP upgrade, whereas T6 is about ~900 DP upgrade Waist: 2nd best in slow, not likely to upgrade before Wrath of the Lich King Legs: HUGE dilemma!!! HELP!!! Wearing SS for the set bonus, have the best in slot prior to SWP in bank, and I'm not likely to see SWP prior Wrath of the Lich King, when do I break SS set? Boots: The bane of my existence. I'm so close to BoB or Naj's boots, I hate to waste mats or badges on FSW or Incantations, but should I just bite the bullet? Rings: I have the badges for the ring badge, but I can't make up my mind whether to get the darned boots from badges, so I dont' do either. Help me figure it out please. I am low on Google Page Ranking for any of the BT rings and I don't know when i will be able to get the MH rep ring. The ZA ring is a possibility in the near future. Trinkets: I have a bunch of trinkets, but usually I run with my alchy stone and the sextant. I've had all the cards for DMC: Crusade for a while, except the Ace, hopefully i will be able to pick it up before the faire leaves this month, but I'm not holding my breath. I have the Icon and Bloodgem, perhaps I would be better served macro'ing them into sbolt??? MH: Nothing before Archimonde is enough of an upgrade that I would fight to get it. At some point, I may get one of the blades from ZA by default, but I won't be rolling against anyone for them because they are a minimal DP upgrade. OH: I have no intentions of spending Google Page Ranking on anything short of best in slot off Rage. I don't know where I stand Google Page Ranking wise for that, and i have yet to see it drop. Wand: Have best in slot, may need a different gem. I basically understand my job in raid, and basically understand my gear. I use the Gear List as a bible, i consult it for EVERYTHING (I am extremely blonde about gearing up, the list is an absolute godsend for me). I am running into problems with getting more crit, losing 4 points of hit (and wondering if i should lose more as I usually have a caster shammy in my group), deciding whether I am better served breaking the SS set. So, I guess i want advice overall, given what I have access to, knowing where I stand in Google Page Ranking and such, what should i do at this point to better my girl? |
