Unhappy Frustrated Gnome

So I ran most of WOLK solo and rushed to 80. Now I'm at 80 with bad gear and no idea where to go...I also don't have alot of gold hence not many enchants....so any help would be welcome.

Here is the link to me in the armory

The World of Warcraft Armory

Should I be running only heroics? it is possible to get geared from regular instances.

My goal is really just to get the point where I have a higher DPS and I can run a heroic and actually be helpful.....not sure about raiding....

Re: Frustrated Gnome

To begin with i would try and run just normal higher level dongeons to get some like 78-80 blues then do the herroicks and try and ge lucky on the epic drops or just upgrade all your blues to 80
than hit naxx and get the loot

Re: Frustrated Gnome

Go to the argent tournament, do the dailies until you become an argent champion. Then do more dailies to get that currency (can't remember the name right now) and buy the epic caster weapon. It's the best and cheapest way to obtain a proper weapon before raiding.

Go and fight in wintergrasp regularly. The head items you can get there are excellent, and maybe you're lucky and get invited into a VoA group (tough you might want to wait with that).

I'd suggest enchanting your gloves and wrists with spellpower, that quite cheap to get. Once you get a proper weapon put 50 spellpower on it, that's also not too expensive. And fill your gem sockets, if you have to with green gems... empty sockets really look abd.

- Look closely at the Wintergrasp vendor, there are some higher level items there that can be a useful stepping stone to higher level gear.

- Run ToC regular, regularly, until you get the gear drops in there.

- Make sure you pickup any possible easily-crafted level 80 gear. Things like the Faces of Doom in your off-hand combined with the crafted Titansteel Spellblade.

Once you get up to about 1800 spell power, start running heroics.

- Don't use +mp5 enchants on the robe, use the +6 or +8 to all stats. You're a warlock, chew on your fingers and steal the healer's mana.

I don't know about your server, but on mine there are plenty of people running 5 mant ToC reg. I'd suggest trying to get in on one of those groups. I believe Spectral Kris drops there, its a +hit weapon with a blue gem slot to boot.

Enchants: They are great if you have the gold, if not well you can't afford them. I ran for the longest time on my warlock, into naxx25 even, without them. You can be a good lock without enchants. They'll just help make you a better one.

Gold: Run dailies, now that you are 80 don't stop questing. Dailies get you faction rep. I'd do dailies with all the major factions everyday. If you have even a slow flying mount make sure you get the Hodir ones started right away. Hodir is one of the few needed reps that has no tabard, the others you can always just grab a tabard for and run heroics.

Aehm... are you serious about that? 1800 spellpower (unbuffed) is what I would consider almost Ulduar ready. I think 1400 unbuffed was considered Naxx 10 ready some time ago. I'd say anything above 1200 is ok'ish for heroics.

Or did you mean 1800 with Fel Armor and flasked?

Have you looked into Destro build?? Even with your current gear if you went 0/18/53 you could run any heroics and naxx10/25 raids as well. If you really haven't looked into Destro builds you should give it a wiggle and see if you like it.

Also, run normal TOC over and over and over till you can't joust or look @ the corpse explosions anymore.

This game does rely on gear, but the person rolling his/her face on keyboard behind the toon out weights more than the purples you see on people that are clueless.

Don't let the color "purple" judge your lock, let the pew pew do the talking not the gear.

Mmm, yes... 1800 with Fel Armor is good enough for heroics. That way you get up to 2k spell power when flasked/fed. Although I wouldn't bother flasking for heroics, except ToC heroic.

It should be pretty easy for Gnomeobie to get a huge spell power boost with the addition of a better 2H weapon or a 1H/OH pair. He's only at 1250-ish right now. Combine that with the 15 mark spell power trinket in Wintergrasp (which is as few as 5 battles if you win), and he'll gain close to 300-350 spell power.

And probably another 100-150 spell power from inexpensive enchants and green gems.

Which will get him a lot closer to 2k spell power, which will raise his damage quite a bit.

...

Our 10-man guidelines for raiding were: 1800 spell power with Fel Armor (no food/flasks) for Naxx-10, and 2k spell power for Ulduar. Our other measurement was heroic dummy DPS over a 3 minute interval. If you could sustain 1500+ over 3 minutes, then you were ready to step foot inside Naxx, and 2k+ over 3 minutes for Ulduar.

The better geared / spec'd folks were doing 3k on the target dummy at the start of Ulduar. Most of us are now doing closer to 4k on the target dummy over a 3 minute interval.

Encouraging DPS folks to go practice and benchmark on the target dummy also meant that they would be more familiar with their key damage rotations, allowing them to concentrate on other things during a high movement boss fight.

Just pvp a lot,

I have a full set of PvE gear (enchanted and all) and almost a full set of PVP gear. My PvE gear is for my Affl. and the PvP gear is for Destro. I now pump out more DPS in Heroics and raids with my PvP gear on then my PvE.

The cheapest way to get gear is doing a hell of a lot BG's...:P
