Chaos Bolt - Looking into it

As Blizzard has announced its wish to make Chaos Bolt a useful pve spell (at least for deep destruction builds), I'd like to look into it a little further. The basic plan is to figure out if this spell follows the standard cast time / 3.5 formula for spell damage coefficients, or if it has a coefficient of its own.

The recent change from a 1.5 second cast to a 2 second cast, reduced to 1.5 seconds by bane, has me assuming it follows the standard. I'd like to look into it further, and start seeing if a new spell rotation can be pegged down for those of us who love to light it up and watch things burn.


I don't have a beta key, but an hour or two of cooperation from someone who does (Likely over vent) is all I'll need. If anyone has a key and would be willing to help me here, it would be much appreciated. Just drop a note in this thread and we'll make the necessary arrangements.
