Death Knight's DoTs can crit with Unholy talent

Thanks to Vux on the WoW boards, I found this on MMO Champion

Quote:
Wandering Plague (Tier 9) changed to: When your diseases damage an enemy, there is a chance equal to your melee critical strike chance that they will cause 33/66/100% additional damage to the target and all enemies within 8 yards. Ignores any target under the effect of a spell that is cancelled by taking damage. (Previously had a 10/20/30% chance that your diseases would also damage all enemies within 8 yards)
We Affliction locks have been pleading with the devs for something like this and now the Death Knights get it.

Perhaps they need it more but it is still very very annoying.

well, the thing is that their dot damage isn't as big as ours. Plus, I don't really want our dots to crit, just want them to get SOMETHING out of crit rating.

Thats quite....suprising. I never really thought there was a need for DoTs to crit. Unholy DK's get more diseases anyway and given you can potentially have DoTs critting on 3 targets or more at the same time is....well.....harsh in my opinion.

I wonder if it will make it to live.

Re: Death Knight's DoTs can crit with Unholy talent

I never understood why DoTs didn't crit. It's what makes up a huge chunk of necromancer DPS in EQ1 and could easily do the same here. At any given moment one of your DoTs would be critting. The extra damage would really go a long ways to fixing affliction and would allow for affliction locks to be less picky with gear and the devs wouldn't need lots of pure spell damage stuff for Spriest or Aff Lock.

I really wonder if they will do something like this for affliction.
Making DOT's crit would be a very cool and nice upgrade.

The main problem I see with affliction is that we have and I belive are still to dependant on a destruction spell (SB). I cant under stand why they dont give us a affliction filler.

My suggestion would be some end-talent in affliction that either beef up drain soul or just gives us a pure damage "channeling" spell. Like Drain Life without the heal. Just a pure damage channeling spell.

Easy fix to our biggest problem imo.
