Re: Leveling in Northrend!
Id imagine what ever spec the person feels comfortable with. Tbh my lock was my 1st toon and lvld up to 70 in Destro after I had tried Demon I wished I had respecced before.
Well if your a raiding Destro Lock I dont think you'll have problems nuking things down but at the end of the day I think Affli is a good way to go for the mana efficency(sorry for the spelling). I dont think i have the patience to kill everything with the Fel Guaard while I heal him. So I might stay Destro. Immolate, SB, Conflag. and if hes still alive Shadowburn and of to the next mob. |

Re: Leveling in Northrend!
Affliction for me. I've always had greater success leveling with Affliction as the ability to tackle multiple mobs is so easy. The DoT, DoT, DoT, Repeat on 3-4 more mobs, Howl, Life Drain, method works very nicely.
I haven't worked out how my talents will work in Wrath, but I find a 41/16/0 ish build gives you fantastic survivability with those Demo points, really high stamina, and Dark Pact never lets you down with the Demonic Intellect talent. Sure your a tad gimped on damage having little to no destro points, but that doesn't matter when your grinding out 30 mobs for a quest. The faster the better and taking 5+ mobs down at once with an almost non existent down time helps. |

Re: Leveling in Northrend!
The best leveling spec that I found in my late journey to 70 was a hybrid aff dem sac. It provides 3 hots on you when you drain life and basically allows you to take on 7 mobs and never go below half health.

Re: Leveling in Northrend!
Affliction. I leveled to 60 as a demo lock and was playing with the specs when BC released and I leveled to 70 as a demo again. I cry now at all the wasted time. Slap on the FSW Set, and dot to my heart's content. Got a pally buddy that has no problems putting me on follow and healing from time to time. Not to mention someone to pick up the loot.

Re: Leveling in Northrend!
I'm thinking all three will be very viable and fun, as long as you're not a fresh 70 stepping into Northrend. With the small itemization gap, most players will be out-gearing the first few zones.
With that in mind, I'm thinking Affliction may have an edge in collection type and mass-kill type quests. There's also the rep grinds to consider. I'm not sure how it is on Beta at the moment, but there seems to be quite a few less factions to go for. Still, there may be a point to instance grinding so we can get a good head-start on rep. I'd probably go Demonology or Destruction for instance grinding. But probably just Affliction, because I love Affliction. :P |
