Raiding With Other Guilds Author: Narxuthael Posted: May 04, 2009 05:28 PM So until recently my guild was doing 25man Naxx with another guild. Neither of our guilds was large enough to do 25man content on our own, so it made sense. Our initial impressions of each other were tight knit solid guilds. This changed however when we started raiding together. Most obvious was the way the raids were run. At this point in time both guilds had cleared Naxx multiple times on 10man and many of my fellow guild members had done 25 as pugs. I cannot speak for 25man experience of this other guild but I assume it was not as exposed as ours due to them missing some parts of some encounters (like KT's MC). In our 4th? or so run with this other guild one of our members said that we were taking too long. In a previous evening we had cleared 2 wings (spider and plague + Patch) in about 2.5 hours. At this point it had taken over an hour to clear Construct minus Patchwerk (downed the night before) mostly due to an excessive amount of time spent 'training' pre Thaddius for the polarity changes. The entire rest of the clear took 4 hours plus. After the end of the run my guilds officers approached theirs and spoke with them, explaining our guilds actions and that we weren't unhappy at all - but rather as a guild we felt that these runs were taking too long. The other guild argued that a 3 wing clear in 3 days, to a full clear in 2 days, after 4 runs was an excellent level of progress. We agreed wholeheartedly with them, but disputed taking 4+ hours to clear 2 wings plus 2 bosses that the majority (20+) members we know have been exposed to multiple times at 10man level, and various experiences at 25man level. Well fellow Warlocks - what do you think? As a Raid Leader, if you knew most of your members had done the run before - how long should it take to clear Naxx? Do you think 'training' on Thaddius is a waste of time? Post a comment... |
