World PvP Part V - "Now This is Getting Embarassing..."

Perri looked dutifully at the at the gold that the Inn Keeper handed over, his bags somewhat lighter than a few moments ago. The hand full of coins looked pitiful compared to the pile of gear that the Inn Keeper had, but that was always the way when trying to cash in on a run. The Gnome didn't trust those Goblins, but again, he doubted that they trusted him. Still, his robes needed a few stitches in them and the gold in his hand would pay for his repairs and the slap up meal his mouth was already watering about.

A quick growl at his puppy, followed by a "Heel", forced the demon into line like a lost puppy following the Gnome with the meal ticket. Perri, thoughts elsewhere, walked towards the local tailor,a Goblin but he'll do. The Gnomes' mood darkened as he saw the Orcs and Blood Elf taunting a young Night Elf into a fight. Just outside of Ratchet, and beyond the Bruisers control, the Night Elf was nothing but a discarded toy - a play thing for the Hordies pets. His blood started to pump around his body, but aware that the odds were stacked against him, Perri continued towards the Tailor, as if nothing had happened.

At the last minute, the Gnome ran around the buildings to get a better view of the potential fight. A pair of Orcs were standing over the corpse of the Night Elf, which left the Blood Elf unaccounted for....

Perri had been in this situation before, and knew that he was walking into a trap...

I must say, it was a good fight - although obviously Perri lost (otherwise I would be shouting off the rooftop). The fact Perri took the initiative was a surprise to the Blood Elf Rogue, and even though he was two levels senior, the fight was tight. Perri managed to keep him at bay, popping DoTs whenever he could, but the one thing that let the side down was mobility.

Well perhaps, Perri's gear wasn't up to scratch but on this performance things are looking up.

Back to mobility. Yeah, mobility... Recently, I've started keybinding as many of Perri's abilities as possible, in fact Q and E are assigned while A and D are used to strafe. I haven't used the keyboard to turn for ages, so it's mouse all the way! Nowadays, Perri rarely stays still, even against Mobs, always moving and trying to get into the better position - probably has ants in his pants! You be wondering where the problem with mobility is... well...

The thing is, it is fine moving about and jinxing against AI - but when faced with another player it is possible to find yourself in a worse position rather than getting the upper hand. Sometimes, all the moving about disorientates me to such a degree that I have to stop and slowly move the mouse around. Not good in a PvP situation is it?

Perri ended up actually running into the Blood Elf, which is NOT the best thing to happen. So stunned and basically at the whim of the Rogue... we all know the ending, yep a graveyard run.

But this has given me hope, as it was fun watching the frustration of the Rogue for a little while, even if it didn't last.
