Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
My guild is currently struggling to get Brutallus down, after about 50 attempts Sunday,Monday and Tuesday this week we are no closer to killing him. 5% wipe our best attempt and that was when we hit the enrage timer.
I was wondering if any kind person would be able to link me a successful Brutallus Kill WWS report, so i can analysis a good raid setup and what sort of DPS each class needs to be pumping out. Cheers |

Re: Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
If you are getting to 5% enrage it means that either your DPS just isn't there or you might have 1 too many healers. We do the fight with 7.

Re: Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
First thing I see is 8 healers. Drop it to 7. Second thing I see is no druids. The way to do the fight with 7 healers is to have a druid solo heal burns, and in the last 15 seconds have a priest help that's normally on the tanks. Have one shaman dedicated to group healing and the other bouncing chain heals off the MT. Other 4 healers are solely on the MT. Typically a Paladin (needs a spriest), a druid, and a priest on the MT, including the 2nd priest that helps on burns, and the resto shaman bouncing CH off the MTs.
Also, looking at your DPS, on the enrages it looks like you lost a few towards the end to probably burn. You also have DPS issues. The average person with a 7 healer setup needs to put out about 1822 DPS. If you do it with 8 healers they need to do about 1944 DPS. That means that basically your warlocks all have to break 2200, and so do all your rogues, to make up for the loss of 1 DPSer. |

Re: Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
Finally got him down on Tuesday and Followed it up again on Thursday after 3 attempts. Boss definitely on farm now.
http://wowwebstats.com/nnuq16alljzei?s=153590-179714 I had a Mental Shaman and Boomkin in my group with 2 other locks. Died just as he went enrage, i was top of omen so he wacked the tanks then me. Anything else i could be doing to improve my dps? On a side note we seems to have broken the norm way of killing brut. We had no BM hunters, no druid tank,no druid healer and only one shadow preist. Far from our perfect setup so we could definitely improve on the kill. Its interesting to point out that neither Rogue has a warglaive, look at their insane damage ![]() In terms of groups positioning we have 2 main range dps and healers, each group has 9 people. The melee group of about 4 + 1 healer stand behind brut. They don't receive slash. The burn people run to behind the melee group so if DPS time is low for some people its because of the distance you have to run to get to the burn spot. Re: Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
You mentioned asking about things that you could be doing to improve your DPS.
Darkmoon Card: Crusade - Item - World of Warcraft instead of Xiri's Gift Reckless Pyrestone - Item - World of Warcraft in all yellow slots (replace the crit and crit/damage gems) Epic gems in your Belt of Blasting - Item - World of Warcraft, unless you think you're gonna replace it ASAP Vindicator's Pendant of Subjugation - Item - World of Warcraft instead of your neck From ZA: Hex Shrunken Head - Item - World of Warcraft is good Mana Attuned Band - Item - World of Warcraft is good |

Re: Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
Cheers!
I'll look at the Darkmoon Card, what is it you need to get it? Im probably about 3rd in line for the Tier 6 belt so im not going to bother to re-geming the BOB belt. We've had about 6 protector sets fall in 3 weeks ![]() Is that neck worth getting over the one i currently have? sure ill have a gem to socket but its not vastly better than the one i have? Been in about 20 ZA runs for that dam head and it still hasn't dropped :( Already got the Mana Attuned Band, which ring should i replace? and you mentioned replacing all my gems to Reckless Pyrestones, ive seen other locks do that and end up losing too much Crit, in long fights such a brutallus it can really affect how much dps you can push out. |

Re: Successful Brutallus Kill WWS
The darkmoon card is definitely an upgrade over xiri's gift, you have plenty of crit to lose it. Will cost you typically around 2K gold for the Blessing's Deck, which you turn in for the card at the darkmoon faire. Also try to get the hex shrunken head and/or skull of guldan, both are obtainable at your guilds progression level and upgrades for both your trinkets.
I'm in a pretty good situation where I have plenty of badges and nothing to spend them on, so regemming with epics isn't an issue. Until you do get the belt, you may want to regem that belt. Throw a blue gem in that chest, you'll need it when you get that t6 belt. You'll probably keep the shoulders longer than the chest, but the extra 1 spell damage does help. As for the neck, the correct neck you would upgrade to is the Gaurdians Pendant of Subjugation, not the vindicator neck. Throw a reckless pyrestone in it and you'll get +2 haste and +4 damage (dont forget the bonus stam). Costs nothing but honor and should hold you over until you get a TSN. The rings you have are fine for now. If you did elect to swap one out, replace the hyjal ring for the mana attuned band. For gems, I personally stick with reckless pyrestones (5 haste/6 damage) and runed crimsons (12 damage). Keep 2 gems for the chaotic requirement (forceful seaspray - 5 haste/7 stam). I used to go with the crit damage builds, but the amount of damage i'm able to put out over an entire fight increased by moving to a haste setup. With the 120 haste I have now, I'm sitting at 2200-2300 dps on brut, 15k dooms, and 9k sb crits. One other thing that wasn't touched on, enchant your boots with boar's speed. Even minor speed will help on fights like brut when you have to run to burn zones, twins when you are targeted for conflag, or on m'uru when you have to avoid obstacles in phase 2.
