Gruul/Magtheridon > DPS-Time
Link:
Wow Web Stats Armory: The World of Warcraft Armory Group Makeup: Had a shadowpriest (Chariovalda), no shamans, moonkins. Information: Fellow warlocks, we downed Gruul&Magtheridon today for the first time - and I seem to have the highest DPS, but the lowest DPS-time compared to other casters. + Seems like I'm having bad luck with positioning..nevertheless, the others should suffer from area effects as well, so I dont see why I have 20% less DPS-time...Would someone enlighten me? |

Re: Gruul/Magtheridon > DPS-Time
God, my grandmother spoke german to me for the longest time but it's weird looking at a wws auf deutsch.
Umm. . . yes your dps time is a little low; however, you have to consider how wws parses a fight. It takes 5 second intervals of damage etc. Therefore if you have a 5sec period where you don't damage the target it reduces your dps time. Since most dots tick more than once every 5 secs the likely hood of a span of time where you dps is higher than with shadowbolt spam. Looking at the spell rotations on Gruul, It appears you have a UA lock, two fire destro locks and yourself as shadow destro. Since the shadow destro locks cast immolate (feuerbrand?) a lot, they have a dot that keeps their dps time up even while moving or life tapping. Your guild should have one of those fire locks switch to shadow though . . . I doubt with an affliction lock and a shadow priest that you are able to keep good ISB uptime by your self. I guess my point is that you can't very well compare yourself with locks that are using lots of dots. You need to minimize your movement and maximize what you get out of moving. Do this by only lifetapping when you are forced to move and it won't kill you. Always be oom at the end of a fight because if you are at full that means you lifetapped too much. Chain chug mana pots because you get the most dps out of them. Major Rejuvenation pots are good too that way for you get mana back when you need that pinch health pot to save your life (alchs have an advantage there.) Either way if you find yourself doing anything other than casting shadowbolt you are losing dps time. |

Re: Gruul/Magtheridon > DPS-Time
Thanks for the answer, I didnt really consider it to be difficult to translate for a non-german-speaker..because the interface itself is in english.
Didnt know the way WWS parses fights, this actually explains a lot, thanks for clearing it up! 2 of the Warlocks were randoms (zyridis and draca), I'm currently making Necrono to go utility since his equipment isnt suited for destruction (mine barely is!)... I'll heed your advice concerning mana-tap-running, definately giving mana potions a go (Before: Manapotions? Ive got Lifetap!!). Tschüss. ;) |
