My DPS keeps falling from raid to raid

This is last night's SSC run. We don't have any boss except lurker on farm yet. We downed leo for the first time last week, and I'm our designated demon tank.

Wow Web Stats

specifically lurker

Is the report. Now, please forget about heartsalive and armitage, hearts is an ex hardcore raider who savours a change of pace. I think he enjoys watching these instances being taken as a challenge again. Armitage is from the server's top guild (whose locks under perform too, but their CL is a fool imo) and is not just T6d out, but has spare sets for both DPS specs and tanking. Ahzam is a moonkin, he's special, and being out DPSed by him isn't what I'm worried by. The third warlock, anand is malediction/ruin. I'm more worried about me than anyone else. I drop curse of recklessness and soulwells and stuff but basically on a boss I shoot things. That's it.

It's that last night we had a shadow priest for the first time and I'm pumping out dissapointing numbers.

Wow Web Stats

The lurker near miss before. I'm, popping trinkets every time he surfaces and that week, no shadow priest,my DPS is higher. This is a worrying trend, because at one point I was doing 1200DPS without a shadow priest. Since them I've switched immolate into my rotation and maybe that's the cause, but then maybe not, and either way my DPS just seems to be dropping week on week. Just wondering if I'm still doing the sort of DPS I should, or there's a problem. And if so, what the solution would be. I tend to ignore trash DPS. I do it, but I'm often refilling soulbags or on crowd control duty

Here's my gear (except after leo we logged and obiously I didn't put my +4 hit +5spell, +15 spell enchanted fury of the ursine on)

The World of Warcraft Armory

It hasn't changed much in a while. I have a few toys banked. T5 gloves, 110 badges saved, ashyen's gift, the kara exalted ring, scryers bloodgem, haste cape from ZA, soul eater's orb, wub's blade, and so on.

Re: My DPS keeps falling from raid to raid

I actually don't think you have a problem, you were 4th on overall damage and the lock in front of you has some amazing gear, plus I noticed he was using CoD/Curse of Agony which pads the meters a bit more for him.

If DPS is really your concern then the simplest way to push it up (but it could lower your overall damage) is to stop casting Immolate. My guess is you aren't shadowbolting while in the water so Immolate is ticking which pushes up your DPS time but because it ticks for very little it reduces your overall DPS. Just look at Heartsalive, his DPS time is 65% comapred to your 85% probably because he's largely just shadowbolting and not DoTting.

The gear you have is good. If you want to improve it a bit you could put the +20 spell damage enchant on your gloves and stick a +8 Spell Hit gem in one of those blue sockets. You'd gain 11 spell damage and lost just 6 stamina.

Re: My DPS keeps falling from raid to raid

Well you say specifically lurker. . . but you died three minutes into the fight on one of the kills. You can't really draw conclusions about your dps on fights where you die. On the attempt before you were leading the other locks. I don't see this as being too much to worry about. As for dps time 65% for heartsalive isn't really all that good. I like to stay in the 80's or higher even when just casting shadowbolts. If he is that low (or you are) it means he is being idle or not positioning very well to deal with aoe etc. . .

Always remember to do things that are instant (lifetap) while moving. The more you stand and nuke for longer the better (move only if you must.)

Re: My DPS keeps falling from raid to raid

Hearts has a weakness very specific to that fight. Getting back on the platforms is an ordeal for him. Despite his superior twitch skills it's a problem I don't have. Think it comes from his usual 3FPS framerate.
