When did The Warlocks Den start? The idea came to me late one night not long before Christmas 2003. January 6th, 2004 was the day I kick started it all and opened it to the public.
Why did you start it? I played Everquest for almost 5 years, and used all sorts of sites for information. From the first site I found (Everlore) to Allakazams, and then onto specific sites like EQ Traders Corner and EQ Altas. Along with class forums depending on what character I was playing at the time, these sites provided a mountain of helpful information. The most memorable was The Mage Compendium because after trying numerous other classes (Druid, Monk, Cleric, Rogue, Shadow Knight and Necro), I finally landed on a class I loved enough, I wanted to find out everything I could about it and play that class the best I could.
After using these sites (all of which were provided free by hard working admins) I decided it was time to give something back to the gaming community I had taken for granted for so long. I've known since day one that I would be a Warlock, and knowing I would never have the time to dedicate (or the desire) to a full blown fan site, a class specific site seemed perfect.
So what is the site about? A lot of people who played EQ will know us as a class site or class forum. Basically we are a site dedicated to everything "Warlock". While our forum houses sections that other, more broad WoW sites do such as Spells and Professions, the general topics will usually (if not always) relate to Warlocks. There is of course the Official Warlock Forum, however here at The Warlocks Den we try to offer a more helpful and friendly environment, one free from flaming and other unpleasantries.
If your playing a Warlock and want to know how to do one of our pet quests, need some advice on what spells to use, are looking for what is the best weapon of choice then you have come to the right place.
Sounds cool! So who does all this? That would be yours truly, the site is completely maintained by myself, Akasha along with the wonderful help from other Den members. Although I may do all the physical administration such as uploading, linking information from the front page, adding new features, it's the support and information provided by all the members that contribute to making this such a great place. Without them I would still be the small ezboard I started out as...
